After last week's article announcing a laundry listing of updates and tweaks to cheap Diablo 4 items following back-to-back weekends of open betas, today Blizzard announced another and final beta weekend where every single one of those changes will already be implemented.

Diablo 4

Speaking on the live steam today, Diablo 4's developers asserted the "server slam," which is meant to place the team's servers towards the test in front of what they hope is a steady launch day for that action RPG, will require place around the weekend of May 12th, starting at 12 PM PST on Friday and conclude at 12 PM PST on Sunday. Unfortunately, players who took part in the first two beta weekends will discover their characters deleted, as promised, and progress produced in this final test will also not carry over toward the final game.

During this final beta weekend, players will max out at level 20 rather than 25, designed being an extra challenge whenever they confront the planet boss, Ashava, who'll award all who defeat her throughout the server slam by having an exclusive cosmetic mount within the full game.

But the amount cap and new rewards aren't the only real change in store, in a general host of updates, including balancing tweaks for that character classes and streamlined dungeon layouts will already be contained in this early look.

The most notable one of the character class changes may be the necromancer, which has received nerfs for their undead minions (which now die easier) and corpse explosions (which now do less damage). Other classes, such as the barbarian, have received buffs to create them more consistent with their demon-slaying peers. In the barbarian's case, this comes in the form of a 10% reduction in the damage they receive from all sources, among other favorable tweaks.

Reworks to dungeons include objectives that are easier to complete without monotonous backtracking that utilizes time, along with a greater presence of special attractions that sometimes spawn randomly while seeking a dungeon.

The server slam is going to be open to all players on all platforms and includes a two-player couch co-op on consoles. If you haven't begun your crusade against the daughter of hatred yet, you will have another chance in some short weeks.
