The production process of real dolls

1. Model preparation

To make real dolls, the first step is to have a mold, and to make a mold, you need a mold type. What is the mold type? The mold type is exactly the same shape as the product you want to make. Some manufacturers find people to carve it out, while others directly use real people to make the mold type and open the mold. Of course, the cost will be higher. No matter what type of mold it is, after preparing the mold, apply release agent on the surface of the mold to facilitate later demolding.

Release agents are oily and generally use medical Vaseline as a release agent, which has better effects and lower costs. If it is a carved mold, it can also be diluted with detergent and water as a release agent. The application of release agent must be uniform.

2. Mold making

Considering the larger body shape of the silicone doll, an external mold needs to be made to support it. First, add an appropriate amount of silicone gel and hardener, stir evenly, and then perform vacuum treatment because liquid silicone gel will produce bubbles during the stirring process, so vacuum treatment is required. Vacuum pumping requires the use of a vacuum box, also known as a vacuum defoaming machine.

After defoaming, apply silicone evenly to the mold with a brush. After the entire mold is coated with silicone, wait for a while, and then apply the second layer when the silicone is semi dry. Wait a little longer, and when the second layer of silicone is semi dry, lay a layer of gauze or glass fiber cloth on the surface. Then proceed with the third layer of silicone coating. Wait for the silicone to fully cure.

3. Make external molds

When the silicone mold is completely cured, use a glass fiber cloth to lay a thin layer on the outside of the silicone mold, and then use a brush to brush the adjusted resin onto the glass fiber cloth bit by bit. When the glass fiber cloth encounters the resin, it will become soft and just match the shape of the silicone mold. Handle the entire mold shape in this way.

4. Demolding

After the resin outer mold is completely cured, it enters the final demolding process. First, remove the resin mold, then use a silicone mold to remove it, and take out the mold type. A silicone doll mold is ready, and then the mold is repaired. Apply release agent evenly on the inner side of the silicone mold, then place the mold in a suitable position, vacuum the adjusted skin color of the silicone, pour it into the mold, wait for it to fully cure, remove the silicone doll, and then proceed with subsequent processing.
